A ruler and masking tape are your best allies for achieving the sharp edges of this geometric pattern executed in punchy brights from the 2017 Forecast’s Prism palette.
Plascon Cashmere in Downy Duckling (Y3-A1-3), Turkey Dimple (R1-A1-4), Lobster Red (R5-B1-1), Silver Bird (EC 2), Cabana (G6-A1-2) and Deep Sea Reef (B7-B1-1). Other: Medium paintbrush, long metal ruler, pencil, masking tape and chalk.
One to two days.
On a white painted wall, draw equidistant horizontal lines from top to bottom with a pencil and long ruler. Measure 84 and draw your first triangle, and then draw all the angled lines parallel to each other.
Use chalk to mark out which shapes will be triangles, parallelograms or diamonds until happy with the balance of your design. Start masking the outlines of the shapes, pressing down the edges of the tape well to prevent the colours from bleeding.
Paint two coats of your desired colour paint (we used Lobster Red) and remove the tape while paint is still wet to prevent it from pulling off bits of dried paint from the edges.
Continue in this fashion with the rest of your colours. Wait for paint to dry thoroughly before masking off the adjacent coloured shapes.
